Movies & TV

Practical Magic 2 β€” 🎬 Cinema Practical Magic 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the 1998 supernatural romance, directed by Susanne Bier and starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as the Owens sisters, joined by Joey King and Maisie Williams playing Sally's daughters. The plot picks up decades later as the family confronts a lingering curse, hidden origins, and dark magic tied to their lineageβ€”expect themes of sisterhood, legacy, and sacrifice. Early reviews have been mixed, praising the chemistry between Bullock and Kidman but criticizing its lengthy runtime, uneven pacing, and sense that it doesn't fully recapture the original's charm.
Released: Friday Sep 11, 2026
The Uprising β€” 🎬 Cinema The Uprising is a historical action-drama from Paul Greengrass, starring Andrew Garfield as a humble ploughman who becomes the surprising leader of the 1381 Peasants' Revolt against King Richard II, with Jamie Bell, Stephen Dillane and Tom Hollander among the supporting cast. Its release sparked debate after U.S. marketing hinted that Garfield's character is a proto-Robin Hood figure, a claim that the UK distributor has since denied, insisting the film is strictly about the revolt itself. Early reactions praise the performances and scale, though some critics find the narrative uneven and the historical framing familiar rather than groundbreaking.
Released: Friday Sep 11, 2026
Runner β€” 🎬 Cinema Runner is a high-octane action-thriller directed by Scott Waugh that follows former soldier Hank Malone (Alan Ritchson) racing against a ruthless cartel to deliver a life-saving organ, with reluctant support from Owen Wilson's character. Since opening first in Australia, the film has just premiered in the US and UK where critics praise its stunt work and over-the-top action, though many note that the character drama and emotional stakes land unevenly. It is currently in theaters and being discussed as a solid genre pieceβ€”especially among fans of physical action and pulpy thrills, though it's not emerging as a breakout hit.
Released: Friday Sep 11, 2026
Onslaught β€” 🎬 Cinema Onslaught is an action-horror film directed by Adam Wingard, starring Adria Arjona as Celeste, an ex-Army sniper who must defend her trailer-park community and young daughter when a squad of genetically enhanced super-soldiers escape from a clandestine military facility. Reviews are mixed: critics commend its audacious throwback style, gore effects, and Arjona's tough, magnetic lead turn, while many feel it leans too heavily on genre pastiche with weaker character development and a climax that falls short. The movie is in US theaters now following its release, underperforming at the box office relative to expectations but sparking spirited discussion among genre fans and speculation about a sequel in Wingard and Barrett's universe.
Released: Friday Sep 4, 2026
